From June 2011-June 2012, Gardwell Coatings Ltd worked on the Conoco Phillips/SLP Katy Minimum Facility Platform to perform the surface preparation, blasting and coating of all the structural items and pipework of the jacket and topsides.

Working to a full array of standards, including but not limited to the Conoco Phillips Standard for External Coating Specification for Onshore and Offshore Facilities, which defines the requirements for surface preparation, application and inspection of coatings for new build and maintenance coating of structural steel, vessels, plant, equipment (e.g. valves), risers and piping used on all company installations.

Gardwell coated to the guidelines and criteria set by Conoco Phillips, while working with SLP to produce a thorough array of paperwork including coating reports, certificates of conformity, chloride and gas reports, inspection equipment calibration, coating adhesion test certificates, inspection & test plans and material certificates.
